Air cargo can be held before it reaches the aircraft when dimensions, weight, contents, or documents are unclear. Check these details before collection.

Measure after packing

Record the length, width, height, and weight of every package after packing. Add the total weight and say whether packages can be stacked. These details determine chargeable weight and aircraft space.

  • Package count
  • Dimensions and weight per package
  • Total weight
  • Stackable or non-stackable

Match the goods and documents

The goods description, quantity, weight, invoice, and packing list should agree. Dangerous goods require an MSDS and carrier acceptance. Declare batteries, liquids, magnets, or sensitive goods early.

Packing photos help the team check the package shape, labels, lifting points, and condition before collection.

  • Invoice and packing list
  • MSDS for dangerous goods
  • Packing and label photos
  • Handling instructions

Confirm the cut-off and consignee

Confirm collection time, terminal cut-off, flight plan, air waybill number when available, consignee contact, and delivery address. For large packages, check lowbed, trailer, or crane access at both ends.

Agree who sends an update if the schedule changes and who signs the proof of delivery. A short check before collection can prevent the goods from being returned by the terminal.
